From the foosball and Ping-Pong wars to the central location across from the Prudential Center and Christian Science Center pool, working at WordStream has its perks! If you asked each one of us, I’m sure we’d list a variety of reasons we love working for this rapidly growing tech company – a tapped keg, beanbag chairs, and unlimited vacation to name a few, but aside from the perks it ultimately comes down to the phenomal people that make up our rapidly growing “startup like” company.
WordStream Founder, Larry Kim, and CEO, Ralph Folz, at the Boston Aquarium celebrating the holidays
If you asked WordStream founder Larry Kim, he’d most likely go into an emotion-infused rant about the days he worked from a Panera as a one-man shop. From my start at WordStream in 2013, the growth I’ve seen from roughly 70 employees to 150+, taking over three floors (with incredible views of the city, I might add), is mind blowing, so I can’t begin to imagine how Larry and the other old-school WordStreamers feel!
Last night we were honored to take home the Boston Business Journal's Best Places to Work of 2015 award, coming in at 5th place under the medium-sized business category. “Wicked awesome honor! This might be one the best rewards we’ve ever received,” says WordStream’s CEO, Ralph Folz, as he accepted the award last night.
The Boston Business Journal announced the 80 honorees on April 30, and held their annual ceremony at the Citi Performing Arts Center in downtown Boston, where a fun bunch of my dapper co-workers celebrated in true WordStream form leaving work behind. The BBJ’s Best Places to Work awards are determined through surveys and scoring of responses provided in partnership with Quantum Workplace.
